Until Next Time

After Sonic and the gang thwart Eggman's plan to unleash Subspace onto Mobius, Sonic goes to the Brawl world to find Tabuu. Rita, however, goes a separate path, to accomplish her own agenda and defeat her personal demons (Mainly by destroying S.M.A.S.H.); her final words to the Sonic gang are "Until next time." Or, in Japanese, "Mata Kondo." She even refuses to allow Shadow to come with her---and he was the one who joined her cause initially because she had information he wanted. And surprisingly, he respects her wish.

I know her dress isn't the same color as it is in the two-page study. Bite me. xD

I drew this while repeatedly listening to "Hide and Seek" by Imogen Heap--it's like Rita's departure theme. It's a PHENOMENAL song, and if you ever have the opportunity to hear it, use that opportunity. Imogen Heap achieves the effect in the song by singing it multiple times at different pitches, and there's little to no instrumental music.

Rita's undergone so much change since I first created her...I guess all her major changes took place after Ryan dead. And when I look at her...I guess I put some of Ryan's determined spirit in her. ^_^

Maybe that's why I admire Rita so much. ...Maybe that's why I like see other people draw her.
